Well for one thing I started out not understanding what you wanted to accomplish. So my response was wrong from the start. Sorry about that.
What you seek is X watts in = X watts out. Voltage exchanged for amperage. What the heck BFL it's not like you were investing in a Stradivarius. The investment is = to a double burger, fries, and soda pop down at the drive through...
Something tells me I-output is going to be percentage limited. My car is loaded with 11 different gizmos, and seven power supplies. I wanna tinker!
Why wouldn't a bucker act just like a single stage solar controller? It waddles, quacks, and has feathers.
But I do like the idea of using an 80 volt 600 watt booster and sending 8o volts back to the trailer on the battery charge line. That otter nip voltage drop a tad. Set the bucker at the trailer to whatever tickles your wig.
