So if you had a 230w panel that does 37v (34v when in the sun) and 8.3 amps, you could just use one of these gizmos that would take that input, set the voltage to 14.8v and you would get how many amps more than the 8.3?
Would the amps taper after battery voltage reached 14.8 or would the amps be set at some fixed amount? I don't know how these things operate.
Be funny if this would work so you could run your 230w panel from a $30 gizmo instead of an MPPT controller costing kazillions. Just no fine tuning MPPT.
