When I had to leave my 130w , 8.2a panel on a 7.5a 105w controller for a few days, I covered one cell to derate the panel and that got its amps down to about 5a ISTR, but I don't think I compared the Vocs.
To test the gizmo, I just want to see it work. The actual amps I get compared with the Eco-W on the full 230 doesn't matter as such. If I had a 12v panel I would use that and have no worries about going over the 32v.
