Very interesting. For the same price, with this gizmo you get 60v input limit compared with the actual Eco-Worthy MPPT controller's 42 or 45v limit, but without the MPPT if a solar panel is the input.
This would let you operate (with buck but no MPPT) two 23v Mono panels in series where the Eco-W is maxed at two 22s (Poly) and could go overvoltage and fry with those in the cold. The Eco-W works well with a single panel up to about 250w which has the Voc under 40v.
Here is the big gizmo and the Eco-W. Isn't the Eco-W mostly a tidy version of the gizmo, which even has readouts on its remote? The Eco-W has MPPT. I wonder how many AH a day that would get you compared with the gizmo on buck only. I might be able to test for that using my smaller gizmo and the de-rated 230w panel next spring when I have solar going again.
