I didn't hear any noise, but my old shunt controller did make you dizzy if you watched the Trimetric once the controller started controlling. :)
The gizmo does let you pick a Vabs that will stay at that voltage. My Eco-W will only do that if I want Vabs to be under 14.5v. To get any time at Vabs you have to set Float to the same voltage as Vabs. I can't get it to stay at Vabs of 14.8 so I have the Float maxed at 14.5 setting. Luckily that works well with my 6s. No good with the T-1275s though. (Next summer on solar, I will just take the 6s)
So now all we need is an MPPT circuit to add to the gizmo and we have it all? Make your own MPPT controller folks! Looks like the price advantage would be to just buy an Eco-W though.
