I thought it was for solar panels (the gizmo buck might have some other input in different applications) where it "hunted" to "lock on" the MPP of the panel's IV curve. So when "on" it should get you a tad more in amperage?
Goes back to that good question earlier. You can select an output voltage and you get what you get for input. Amps are whatever happens. With solar panel input, are you ( with the MPPT) not selecting the input somewhat too in hopes of getting the most amps?
