How many higher frequency harmonics can there be coming out of the big ol' coarse windings of the Onan? I'm not sure that those windings like high frequencies very well.
What Onan's "voltage regulator" is doing to the sine wave coming from the 360 degree rotating shaft may be a whole other issue, however.
I'm not a fan of 256 step (or more) A-D/D-A created sine waves. Even though the nearly vertical part of each little step contains frequencies way up there, I guess that equipment power supplies can't see those little tiny steps if there's enough of them coming fast.
Being that as it may, I prefer power factor corrected converters/chargers to help eliminate messing up the incoming AC, but most of them aren't of that design.
