By chance
does anyone know of anything that will clean white caulking without destroying it. the caulk on our camper is three years old and try as i might i can not find anything that will clean it. thanks all for your help.

- Acetone will work like magic.
But it is so strong that I wouldn't use except when doing maintenance.
That is the only time I clean it. I think that a layer of dirt is a pretty effective UV blocker. - The only thing that works consistently for me is Acetone. It will remove the black mold off caulking and the plastic trim. It is a strong solvent so don't saturate the rag when using.
- Wonder if a Mr. Clean sponge would work. If used lightly I don't think it would be too abrasive.

thanks for the tip,i will give it a try. guess you just have to be very careful not to scrub too hard as it could render your caulk useless. trying to avoid the classic case of cure worse than disease scenario.Francesca Knowles wrote:

Seems like WD 40 would damage the caulk or the seal. Surely i'm not the only one out there with dirty caulk. :B
