We use the 2KW Generator here to power up our CUISINART GRIND AND BREW bean coffee maker. This only takes five minutes of being on the generator. Then it pours the brewed coffee up into a 10-cup thermos carafe. We have fresh Hot Bean coffee all day long with just a five minute run on the generator...
Our style of camping off the grid is have enough batteries to run all the things we want to have from a 255AH battery bank and then not run the batteries down to lower than their 50% charge state. Then the next morning when we are allowed to run our generator we can charge the batteries back up to their 90% charge state. This makes it good for us to do this all over again the next day/night run off the batteries. We can do 12-14 cycles of the 50% to 90% charge state which takes only three hours generator run time without doing harm to our batteries. After the 12-14 cycles them we have to do a full 100% charge to keep from harming the batteries. This takes around 12-13 hours to complete so obviously we don't want to this running off the generator. Usually we are home base by then...
Been doing the since 2008 on our battery bank and they are just now starting to show some poor performance ( not holding as long as they initially)...
