I would not leave a battery sitting for 6-8 mos... 10% loss of capacity per month along with sulfating which causes a loss of spec. capacity....
If you store the battery and use a tender you need to make sure that the battery is FULLY charged, measuring the Specific Gravity with a hydrometer to make absolutely sure it is.
I leave my camper plugged in all the time when at home. I hate to remove my batteries for any reason. I now have AGM (s) and have no reason to even check connections.
