Can't believe some of the rip off suppliers!
The knobs/locks were rusted into place on my awning. I started shopping for new ones. I found them! The knob replacements are about $8.00 a set. The shipping for the 5oz items costd about 14.00 to 18....

4 oz USPS First class is $1.61. 8 oz is $2.35.
USPS can take upwards of a week to get it from coast to coast or in my area it is THREE DAYS to get it 50 miles to my nearest big city. I know myself that it is OFTEN cheaper AND faster to send anything larger than a envelope on FedEx Home or UPS ground.
Spoiled.. There is no way anything like a knob can be shipped for a $1, period.
If you dropped a unpadded envelope into USPS, FedEx or UPS those knobs WILL either not make the trip and be lost or make the trip and be smashed all to pieces.
In the case of USPS they can not process bulky envelopes via automation and have to hand sort it (a costly and time consuming process), hence the reason they charge more..
Even if the seller was to use USPS for say $2.35 postage they will have spent an additional $2-$3 for a PADDED ENVELOPE so even if they charged a flat rate of $7 or a surcharge they are barely recovering the costs of doing business via mail...
Heck even first class mail now days costs $.49 cents for the first 1 oz and you want a 4 oz item to ship for a $1??? You are being unrealistic to say the least :R
