Parts Supplier?

Hi all,
I hope this is the right forum because I looked at all the possibilities and none seemed to really fit my question. I have been doing a lot of repairs and upgrades on my trailer over the last year and have gotten most of what I need from Camping World.I really like them despite being a little more expensive than some other places I have seen, but they don't always have what I need.

For example I needed a new thermostat for my furnace and couldn't find one at camping world. Also I replaced my water heater and Camping world didn't have those either at the time. (Back ordered into oblivion)
I have used RV Parts Nation a couple times now and I'm really not liking them. They are very nice and have a huge selection on their site, but you may was well place your order for Christmas in March and hope for the best. Does anyone have any suggestions for other suppliers?

I'm still looking at replacing my shower pan and most likely my furnace in the next year or so and if I have to use RV parts nation I should probably order them now for delivery some time in 2014.
Thanks
  • I've used:

    www.tomjohnsoncamping.com

    www.pplmotorhomes.com

    www.terrellcampingcenter.com

Been very satisfied with them; reasonable prices, timely delivery.

    Regards,
    Doug
  • AdventureRV.net
    Tweetys.com
    RVmarinesupply.com
Thermostats depending on what you have can be purchased from Lowes or Walmart. Many are not rv specific.
  • I also found www.RVSupplyparts.com to be very good website and they are in California.
  • Rad auto.com has very good prices and very good service. Free shipping on orders over $200. Ordered MorRyde hitch on Tuesday afternoo at 2:30PM and recieved yesterday at 5:00PM. I live in south Alabama and it was shipped from West Palm Beach area.
  • Don't forget eBay and Amazon. I have bought parts, accessories and supplies from both. Have used PPL but like CW their shipping is too high on small orders.
  • If you buy from a vendor over the Internet, make sure you use a credit card with a good dispute resolution policy. Most vendors will work with you on an issue, but at least one I've used (for RV parts) was totally schizoid. I finally just had to tell them they could either work with me on the issue or deal with American Express. They called my bluff and ended up on the loosing end. I even got my shipping charges refunded.

Other than that one vendor (which was an Adventure in itself) all the others listed on this thread have proven to be very good to deal with.
  • To be honest I actually went through almost every dealer on this list today looking for a new furnace and unfortunately they were all significantly more expensive than Rv parts nation. I'm just going to have to pick and choose it looks like depending on what I am looking for. The furnace I found was $395@Rv parts and $550-$600 at all the other sites. I'm just going to have to get used to long waits when its a large item apparently.
