Good Yamaha generator parts supplier?

After the festival I volunteer for winds down, I'm going to replace parts that are needing it. Things like the filter strainer, the fuel gauge (which is unreadable), air filters, and a panel that got dented. Nothing earth-shaking (I'm not prying the piston out), but stuff that I can't just go to Tractor Supply and fix.

Anyone know a good Yamaha parts supplier that doesn't make you pay grievously with shipping costs? I ordered a fuel strainer, and it cost almost twice as much for shipping than the part itself. Same for some extra generator keys.

  • Thanks. Right now, the nearest dealer pointed out from Yamaha (as in someone who can fix a Yamaha generator on the spot as opposed to having it shipped to some depot) is 80 miles away, and they don't have generator service advertised, so if they don't do that, it would be a 300 mile trip to Dallas.

The parts are not too tough to replace, but it would be nice to have a pro double-check and test output with finer tools than a voltmeter. I did learn that it is a lot easier to use an oil evac pump than try to pop the cork on the bottom to drain it.
  • I purchase my Yamaha parts from Dillion Brothers.

However, they have a dealership in my town, and I get free delivery if I go to their parts department and pick them up. I don't how much their shipping would be to you.

    Good luck!
  • I can't remember how but I cleaned my fuel gauge cover and it has been readable since. I don't know if I had the panel off or just popped off the sight glass. It's at home and I'm not so I can't look at it to jog my memory. I clean my air filter once the strainer I just blow off. No problems in 10 yr of owning mine.
