Spoiled.. There is no way anything like a knob can be shipped for a $1, period.
If you dropped a unpadded envelope into USPS, FedEx or UPS those knobs WILL either not make the trip and be lost or make the trip and be smashed all to pieces.
Even if the seller was to use USPS for say $2.35 postage they will have spent an additional $2-$3 for a PADDED ENVELOPE so even if they charged a flat rate of $7 or a surcharge they are barely recovering the costs of doing business via mail...
well I certainly have received a bunch of stuff lately in padded envelopes and it hasn't been smashed beyond recognition.
and ULine sells cases of 250 envelopes for $39.00.
it sounds like those deals on TV, buy one get another one free for just P&H. $10 for the item plus $8 PH plus another $8 = $26 for two.

Bumpy, it sounds like you and I are on the same page with this.
To the other few that think a person should be paid a union wage of 25.00/hr to stick a knob in a box, then I all add that don't mind someone making an "honest" profit, but it's pretty unrealistic to think that it takes $18.00 to ship an item where the profit has already been factored in. If I bought that same set of knobs plus $100 worth of items in addition, they would have most likely offered free shipping, which tells me that they mark up the product to cover shipping. The fluff that they add is the greed factor and the assurance that someone will not be a repeat customer after the ripoff or the attempted ripoff in this case, has taken place. Take a look at Detroit after the greed took over a city that used to be very prosperous.
