Is there any chance the problem is somewhere else and not in the carb?
Yes. It could be a slight varnish/blockage in the fuel supply line: bottom of fuel tank, fuel shut off valve, and fuel line. Hopefully the Seafoam will dissolve the problem. Is there any chance that there is an air leak in the fuel supply area: cracked fitting/hose?
