When the awning is stuck all of the way in it can be difficult. When stuck in the out position it is easiest to remove the awning for access.
I use a screwdriver with a 90 degree bend to remove two of them. The third one I use a phillips drill bit that I have shortened and then turn it with a wrench. That screw does not allow much space between the cover and the motorhome.
Once you remove those screws the cover will come off.
