Carrying a Scooter on back of Motorhome

Wobble can be a problem w/ a long item held in the center only.
Use a hitch lock antirattler like below will stop it.

Otherwise not much to tell you. The wheels go into a channel or wheel saddles, and there must be some kind of vertical bar to stabilize the upper part of the bike. Then maybe add some safety straps for holdowns

With that small of a coach, I think a wobble is inevitable. They make hitches with double receivers. That configuration would prevent any wobble and most likely make your driving more comfortable...Dennis

Yes, if you're hauling an 800 lb Harley on a 500 lb hitch, you would certainly want a double receiver :)

I have hauled a 270# Vespa on the back of my DP for years. I use a $90 EBay scooter rack, no anti wobbler. I don't see what it hurts to rock a little.

I saw a scooter almost come off once when a moron in a class C tried to do a U turn
From a left only curbed turn lane and ran his back wheels over the curbs. The scooter shocks compressed and the front wheel bounced off the rack and he went down the road dragging the front tire on the pavement.

After that, I started tying the front wheel to the wheel channel and I use four ratchet tie downs on the handlebars; two straight down and two criss crossed and one on the rear.

I use nylon handlebar loops.

All snugged down very tight. Springs compressed.

I'm sure your hitch will safely carry the scooter. That's from a mechanical standpoint, but ....

The 26HE is 27'1" long with a 158" wheelbase. That's a ratio of around 48%. A Class C would never get away with that, so I can only figure the F-53 chassis is a little stiffer. Still, by the time you get Scooter, Batteries, and Carrier, you're putting 300+ pounds out beyond a very long rear overhang. Again, with a Class C, you'd feel that on the road. By that I mean in handling, things like tracking and staying in lane. What happens is the weight way back there has enough leverage that it loads the rear axle by its weight times a leverage factor, and unloads the front axle to a degree as well. Will it make driving unpleasant? I don't know. Some have added a front hitch to carry things like a scooter. I don't know how that would work out on F-53.

I didn't like the rocking and added two side receivers. The rack is now rock solid. I welded the receivers to angle iron and then bolted them to the "V" skid plates.

I don't think the single receiver would have survived a couple 2000 mile Baja trips.

I would be all for putting the scooter on the front. Weld a hitch to the front of the frame and mount the scooter a little low so it doesn't impede air flow.

But when we had our 32 ft gas pace arrow on p30 chassis,
I put the carrier on the front

we carried TWO 50cc Mopeds for several years, then switched to ONE 80cc scooter

Now have a much bigger scooter

We used to carry 2 Yamaha 50cc scooters on back. We were rite at the 500 lbs. weight limit including the duel carrier, but never had a problem. We always used the hitch lock but also found it necessary to run a taught line from one end of the rack up to the top of the ladder to help stop wobble. You DON"T want that much weight moving all day. It CAN crack a weld over time. Depending on the height of u'r hitch receiver you may want to also use a raised hitch into u'r receiver to not scrap at gas station entrances or exits.
