There are many commercial services that will transfer them to CDs, or whatever medium you like. Better do that soon.
Pretty much any LEGIT "commercial service" WILL REFUSE to copy any COMMERCIAL recorded material due to COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT.
PERSONAL stuff like your own recordings of say your son's first words or music YOU have written and own the copyrights to should not be any problem.
Your own personal recordings which are copies of commercial recordings are a grey area for some folks but once again a legit commercial service most likely refuse to convert.
Personally, pretty most music is available commercially on LEGIT PRESSED CDs, even 50's through the 1980's with the exception of some..
I have converted a lot of my vinyl, reel to reels, cassettes and even 8tracks to CD and digital files.. The process is not hard, but is extremely time consuming and the sound quality is no better than the source and sometimes due to digital compression far worse than the source.
With cassettes and 8 tracks, I would really highly recommend you simply search for replacement CDs, many older albums are readily available and pretty cheap. Once you have a CD you can then rip it to any file format you wish (MP3, WMA, ect).
Vinyl is one that can often be converted with good results provided it isn't totally worn out and scratched.
