There is a hot weekend coming up and i was hoping to camp, but where we want to go is dry. We'll be camping with friends, they have the 2K honda and we have the 2K yamaha. Could we chain them to run...

ANY 2K genset? Based on that qualification I'd have to say NO ... chances of successfully starting a typical 13.5K BTU roof mount A/C under similar conditions are much less if the genset in question is a Yamaha EF2000iS or Champion 2K, much greater if it's a Honda EU2000i which can not only successfully meet the initial LRA load much more easily but also sustain a surge rating at and beyond the rated 2000 watts for as much as 1/2 hour. That's far beyond the capabilities of the Yamaha or Champion, one reason likely being each of those has a ~ 20% smaller displacement engine than the Honda EU2000i. It ain't a cult favourite for nothin'! :C
