Champion on sale

Tractor Supply has a Saturday only sale running for the tried and true 3500 this weekend. They have them priced at $279 for the first time in a good while. This may be regional, I don't know. It was in their flyer in the paper this AM. Just FYI, I have no affiliation with either company. I may go get one just as backup for my Yammy.

Price sounds too low for a Champion Inverter genny. Make sure it's not the open frame construction style that is basically as loud as a lawn mower. If it's indeed for the inverter type, buy 2; Great inverter genny for that price.
  • They are not that price in my area they are priced on sale @$329.00
  • We have had a 3500/4000 for 3 years now and it really is the best bang for the buck out there. Quieter than most open frames and easier to start than a Honda 2000. We use ours in the boonies away from others and once inside the noise is just a hum but then again so was the Honda 3000is that was next to us last year.

The best thing about it for us was by NOT blowing the budget on a inverter solution, I was able to set us up for solar. Now the Champ is only needed for AC (not often) and is usually the quietest generator in the area.
  • It is a great generator when used with some discretion and for general purposes at home in spite of the naysayers and doesn't cost a small fortune. I have owned one for several years and they are NOT ear splitting, in fact they are pretty quiet and will run everything in my 30A TT ALONE, something no wimpy 2k quiet generator will do.
  • Thats a very good buy. I bought one a few months ago and used it camping several times . Works great and not as loud as others Ive heard.
  • Buying a Champion as a back-up for a Yammy! LOL! Now I've seen and heard everything! At that price you might as well buy another back-up for the back-up.:W

Champion makes both Contractor's generators (Traditional open frame loud they should sell with earplugs) and inverter (more effiecent, quieter, no ear plugs needed).. I suspect, since 3500 is a common size for the first. that this is one of the noisy ones.
