Well I'm sorry I didn't give you the chance to finish the diagnosis, gramps. But I'm glad to hear I did right by the ol' ticker.
I'm also glad I can say that the unit has now had a physical evaluation by professionals.
I had already done some looking. A true Denso rebuild appears to start in the mid $200s range.
The regulator that was in there was not original factory, so... hmmmmm. Perhaps the brushes were also replaced after a prior owner had arced the reg? I don't know. My crystal ball's broken. How's yours?
