Seems sort of plausible that a sealed battery would NEVER need accessing.

I would either move the battery or as someonme suggested cut an access hole, also seal the battery comparttment with regard to INSIDE and vent it to OUTSIDE, in fact it should be that way now but sounds like they did not.

Sounds like whoever designed that RV went to the Auto Engineer's school of design.. There is a story about Henry Ford, this is the very short version:

They brought him a design for a Carburator 14 Screws "Too many screws"
They tried again this time only 4 Screws "Still too many screws"
The final design had a single screw that you needed to remove to D&C the Carb "Just right".

Alas he's gone now.. In 1970 to replace a heater core you clamped the hose (Who drains the cooling system) removed them from teh heater core, took about a dozen screws out of the cover plate and lifted the thing out... Dropped in the new one, fill with antifreeze, apply cover and screws, re-attach hoses and un-clamp job done (run engine a while and add coolant as needed).

Today.. Evaucate A/C . disconnect lineds at fire wall and seal off
Clamp and remove heater hoses (As above) (like I said, who drains the system?)_
Take apart (most cars) the passanger side of the dash board, slide A/C Evaporator out on it's rails and remove heater core from behind it.

Renault.> Remove STEERING COLUMN, open heater compartment and remove heater core to replace (There is an easier way but this is the official 3 hours job method).

As I said. Henry is no longer with us.

x2 this is very unsafe. 900. bucks find a local carpenter .

A flooded battery under the bed? Shoot! Might as well make more room and jam the stove in there too.

Flooded batteries without being sealed SEALED in an airtight box and properly vented through a 1-1/2" tube to the exterior do not belong under a bed. Period.

Terminals, wire and hold down parts do not corrode to nothingness because they are being kissed with love. Hydrogen, Hydrogen Sulfide, and various sulfur and acids accumulate while charging. If she has spent a lot of time in that rig I "vigorously" recommended she get her blood tested for Pb, LEAD.

This is a perfect example of when where how and why a sealed AGM battery MUST be used. Choose a group 29-30-31 for added capacity, then verify that no charging source exceeds 14.4 volts, and preferably defaults to 13.2. This means solar panel charging too.

Stupid stupid STUPID manufacturer. If children were to sleep on that bed, I would bet 100 to 1 they would be suffering from lead poisoning.

All of the above changes for the better IF the battery is already enclosed meaning SEALED in a properly vented box.

Does she have access to the cables which feed and draw from the battery? If so it would be possible to splice solar charging into that line. Fuse close to the line or use a circuit breaker (manual preferred).

You can 'Connect'' the solar into the wires that go from the battery to the power converter and DC fuse panel
Not as optimal as connecting directly at the battery , but it will work
There is a good possibility that the converter is near or under the fridge, access to the wiring should not be too difficult

Connecting up front under the hood would be the least desirable location
