Cleaning out a DIY septic tank

Your wasting your time. Your tank is full of solids and sand. There is no where for the solids to go and they aren't in an environment to readily promote digestions. Sand can also come in the holes, especially when it gets wet and starts to flow. Your mock septic system is at the end of its useful life.

Either extract the contents of the barrels or build a new system.
