Coil cleaning, Coleman Mach: fins breaking off

I just cleaned the coils on the roof. I spray with simple green, let sit for a couple minutes then hose off. 8 year old unit, original owner, 3rd year in a row I've cleaned it. Never touched it ...

I just used AC coil cleaner on my air conditioners yesterday - I have a rubber roof and didn't note any problems .. I do rinse the roof and rig thoroughly when I clean the air conditioner (even with simple green).
