connect comp to tri star 60 mppt controler with ethernet

Guess we have a bit different experience with computers most if not all my experience in the last 10 years is that they do just that and automatically detect as needed. My 1999 Dell Laptop I am typing this on does exactly that have not ever needed a crossover with this or any other of the computers here. Guess each computer manufacturer does it a bit differently.
