Come spend a summer with us and you will find a whole new set of challenges.
This is so very true. I grew up much of my life in Michigan in a house with no AC, and the first 3 houses I owned did not have central AC either.
Gulf coast Texas is not as hot as AZ but learning about simple things like how powerful the sun really is (in the green house of a vehicle, an attic, or for solar) or that the parking lot will stick to your shoes are not intuitive if you have not lived here. Batteries live a short but spectacular life. Tires cook out all the plasticizer and don't grip well in rain after just a few summers. It's quite different for those of use who did not grow up with it.
Camping here is a lot different than camping up north. I camped 12 months of the year there even below 0 degrees, and I camp in over 100 degrees here, but the equipment, techniques, and especially assumptions and mind set you need for each are sometimes quite different.
Thank goodness good insulation is a universal constant value in extreme weather.
