6 gb per hour is common, for HD broadcasts
you can set the output format to match your old analog tv resolution (if needed)
but AFAIK the recording is a direct conversion of the studio broadcast resolution to MP4 format, in other words a 720p broadcast is recorded in 720p
and a 1080i broadcast is recorded as 1080p, thats why its 6gb file
a 480i file would not be that big
i have had a homeworx model PVR (personnel video recorder) for several years,
a fast USB stick is a must
