I too support the PD 9200... Not so much the 4600 when it is a replacement.
And I will explain why
The 9200 line is a converter, PERIOD, that's all, it converts 120 volt to 12vdc and charges the battery Good 3 stage plus, in fact I have yet to find one better (And I have looked, and looked hard)
The other one is a combination converter and power center.. A whole lot more work to replace the existing power center. More money than you need to spend too.
Actually, the 4600 series is also just a converter, PERIOD, with the charge wizard built in. It is just made to fit the space that the Magnetek/Parallax 7300 series fits in so it is a direct drop in replacement.
The 4000 series and the 4500 series are the power centers.

Two ways to use the 9200 to replace a conbination unit such as the Parallex 7300 or the Magnetek
One: Simply splice it in to the 12 volt system, near the batteries, run power to it from the circuit breaker that powers the current converter module (Marked converter or CONV), disconnect current module and leave it sit.
Two, Pull power center, Remove existing "Guts" (The converter) bolt 9200 in the now vacant place. On the Magnetek you need to add a jumper wire (Blue to red) - RoyBExplorer III for one would like to know how your RV GUY came to this decision. I am not convinced your converter has failed. Of course there wasn't much info presented back to us when we was all giving possible problems for you to check out and get back to us with...
It is a simple task using a DC MULTIMETER ($7-$15 LOWES) to determine whether your batteries are bad or the converter is bad with just a couple of local tests you can perform. Converters will cost around $150 and batteries around $80...
If you don't have a Multimeter you really should pick up one. This is one of the best tools you can have around your RV Trailer.
If you are convinced this is indeed the problem then be sure a SMART MODE Converter/Charger chassis is purchased. The PD4600 or PD9200 Series is great. I would steer away from any WFCO 8900 series product.
