DC power issues- any advice?
We have a 5th wheel with two 6-volt batteries (6 month old Interstate) hooked in parallel and a 6 month old Intellipower 9200 converter. Power issues are fine when generator is on or when hooked to shore power. We use small solar panel to maintain charge on battery and run generator periodically. When on battery power, the Dometic fridge will drain power very quickly...going from 11 to 9 volts in just over an hour. If the water pump is running, it will drop the battery below the 8.5 volts needed for fridge to operate properly, tripping the check switch on fridge.
We've checked wiring and looked at voltage to refrigerator. The volts at the battery read over 12, but on the trailer side of the intellipower we get a reading of 10.5.
We have a progressive industries electrical management system hard wired.
Any ideas? We're in an area without any RV techs. Thanks!
