Demotic fridge switching off electrical

Our fridge is running in electric mode. We can camp all weekend and have no issues. We kept the rv plugged into power (and propane on as backup) while we were away for 2 weeks. Came back and the "check" light was on. The propane was empty but the beer were still slightly cold. Propane must have run out not long before we got out here. Any ideas why it will switch to "check" for no reason? The microwave clock was still set to the proper time so the power didn't flicker or accidentally get unplugged.
  • Check your 120 breakers, check the cord and plug little critter may have been nibbling, heating element may be shot.
  • Everything seems to be fine. After I posted the topic I noticed the temp probe was laying down and not in the holder. Wife said it was like that when she first opened the fridge. Thinking that may have been the issue.
  • Any chance fridge is on the GFCI circuit and there was a ground fault issue?

The ONLY thing that will cause a refer to stop 120 and go to LP would be LOSS of 120 volts to the refer. Probes/sensors have nothing to do with it. You need to post Year/Model of refer. Doug

    The breaker wasn't tripped
  • Unplug fridge in the outside access panel . Try plugging something else in its plug to eliminate faulty fridge plug . Then you will know if it is the trailer wiring or the fridge itself.
  • You did not state after you returned, is it working on LP now or it does NOT work on 120 at all? If it does not work on 120 and the wall receptacle is hot(has 120 power) then the odds are either the 120 element fuse is blown and/or the 120 element is defective. On Dometic refers, on AUTO, there is no indication when the 120 has failed other than the refer then runs on LP. Doug
  • It worked on LP (drained the tanks). It worked on electrical all weekend. We just left but will be back there in a week. Hoping the issue is resolved
  • Update! Just finished a week of camping. Fridge ran fine for the week prior to arriving and the entire week we were there.
