Dicor Removal Question

Before Oldman sends me links on removing Dicor (to put fresh down), I did take the time to search for Dicor Removal and it didn't return anything...

That being said - How is the best way to remove it from the edpm roof without damaging the existing roof and once you scrape off what you can, can you put fresh Dicor on old Dicor?

Thanks in advance!

  • I have a 2003 trailer and have never removed any of the lap sealant. I clean it with a rag and a little turpentine, wipe it dry with a clean rag an put the new sealant right on top of the old. It will stick to the old sealant. If you have to remove it due to replacing a pipe vent or vent, I would try a hair dyer to help make it plyable and slowly peel it off. Use a plastic putty knife..
  • Look it up on YouTube. I do not have a rubber roof, but I just did it using a metal scraper and hair dryer - then acetone. And, yes - you can put it over the old stuff if you clean it up real good - that's on YouTube also.

    Good luck!
  • As said unless you are replacing what its covering, just clean and recoat.
  • I use a putty knofe which I rounded the corners on to prevent the edge digging in. It does snot have to be perfectly removed.
