I recommend the EU3000, not the Handi.
I am looking for a REAL Quiet Gen to run my AC.
Thanks
Although at higher elevation the 3000 might get marginal so consider the EU7000 :B
Honestly if running the air 24/7 I am looking for hookups.
I think a 4500 would be enough at 10,000 ft. If I need AC 24/7, I'm staying home. Lol stevekk wrote:

Sounds like the Honda Handi they came out with a few years back. Louder and more expensive that the EU3000is and pretty much identical to the Champion 3100i that sells for $799.
The Honda Handi EU3000i weight is 78 lbs. IT's dB at rated load is 65.
The Honda EU3000is which is 134 lbs. It's dB at rated load is 58.
You cannot compare the Champion to the Honda. Champion dB readings are taken at 23 feet. Honda dB ratings are taken at 9 feet.
You can go on Honda's web site and order a brochure. On page 16 at the bottom of the page you'll find the below statement "Noise levels at rated load to reflect noise level possible, measured at 9 feet(3 meters) from the control panel side of the generator.

The Champion 3100i weighs the same, looks the same and is rated for the same db at the same distance. Perhaps you are thinking of the Champion 3500/4000 that isn't an inverter model, weighs more and is 3 db louder than the handi or the 3100i, will run more and is $300. - SoundGuyExplorer

My camping neighbor told me Honda just came out with a NEW 3500 watt and
about 70 pounds weight and low noise.
I googled the net, but no luck any new Gens from Honda.
Anybody heard of such a Generator?

If you're really serious about that claim then you want the class leader Honda EU3000iS ... but it's not cheap and is quite heavy. As mentioned, your neighbour is probably referring to the Honda EU3000i Handi which costs even more, is much lighter, but also MUCH noisier. The Handi is hardly new though as it's been on the market for at least a couple of years now, if not more. If I were going to spend that much on an inverter genset for camping there's no way I'd spend it on a Handi when the EU3000iS which is such a great genset is so readily available and cheaper to boot. - Probably just a Honda engine in some other brand open frame generator.
- SCVJeffExplorerSure you can. The general round number rule is -6db for the distance doubled.
So measuring the Honda at 23', add another -9db to its spec (in round numbers) - C_B_Explorer II
