Die Hard 1150 Portable Power pack

Ok, I know this is a bit far off the subjects here but I thought I would see if some of the pro's had any ideas. I tried to start DW's quad (used as a farm implement to rake the horse arena) and no go.
I had checked the % charge on the DieHard prior to jump attempt and it said 99%. Did not measure quad battery. Any way now DieHard says 10% and will not charge from wall wort! Any suggestions, other than pitch and buy a new one? Wall wort is putting out expected voltage 17V.

  • Many of these things use a utility battery. I fitted an AGM UL1L to his jump starter and he claims "10-times the power!"

Don't know about -that- but if the voltage regulation circuit still works I'd think about it. A cheapo battery is always -the weak link- in those critters.
  • Sorry for the spelling error. Wall wart is a slang term for the "wall charger". I assume that I could use a higher amperage battery charger once I removed the battery? Then down to auto zone for the load test. I guess I will try to tear down to unit to get at the battery.
  • I have no idea what a "wall wort" is however the 17 Volt wall charger for the 1150 system only puts out 1amp when charging it will take allot of hours to bring the jump start battery back to full charge. recharge the battery with a normal battery charger and see if it will hold a charge. A battery can show full voltage but not have any power to start a piece of equipment. you might want to take the battery to someplace like auto zone and have them put a load test on it before buying a new one.
