DIY window fog repair kit - anyone tried it?

I have a friend that did 4 windows using Dave's kit. His advise is to get a bunch of sharp razor blades to get the old gasket off and to really clean the glass before you put them together. Also make everything is lined up before putting them together because you don't get a second chance.
