Do I need solar or more batteries and a better charger?

If I go the more batteries route ... have I read correctly that the battery bank will charge faster, at least up to the 80-90(ish)% range, or am I dreaming that? I know the remainder will take much longer than I want to run the generator. That happens when I get home and plug in.

I realize adding batteries adds other issues such as tongue wt, maintenance, cost to name a few.
