Mine was in a slide out and vented out the side via a top vent. It took the installation of fans pulling the air out at the top vent and a curved baffle at the top of the chase to prevent hot air from accumulating at the top of the chase. Not a pleasant experience. Glad your was finally solved.
And that was due to RV mfg. failing to follow installation requirements supplied & recommended by fridge mfg.
One only needs to look in the fridge mfg. service manual to find clearance, fan and baffle requirements. Information that is readily available
