Dometic CF-80 on Dingy Battery?

Dometic CF-80 draws 2.9 amps/hr

My dingy will be in a trailer, I'm wondering if I hook the Dometic up to the starter battery how long approximately before the battery drains so much I cannot start the dingy?

I don't have time to do fancy solutions, so I'm hoping I can "get by" until I can plug in. This is summer, eg. not cold.

The battery is a 27F with 625 CCA 130 RC

So just straight hooking it up, how long? Feel free to show the math- I know it's simple but I always feel like I'm messing it up and don't want warm fish and a dead battery because I can't decimal places!
  • From what I can find, the unit draws 7.5 Amps in 12 Volt operation. The unit appears to have an automatic cutoff based on battery voltage to preserve the battery.

Your battery with 130 RC has about 75 AH capacity. If you want to use half the capacity, you will get about 5 hours run.

I know this is hersay, but doesn't your dinky have a pull-cord to start it!!

    Regards,
    Doug
  • Pretty simple to run a 12 volt recepacle from your house battery. I would do that first. Thats what I did for my CF. When on shore power plugged into 120 volts. When traveling it is running from battery power. BTW mine sits in The basement of my fiver nicely.
