At work the refrigerator everyone uses the freezer door was blocked by ice because the frig wasn't defrosted. Someone force the door open which broke the plastic hinge pin that stuck out from the right side of the door. Sounds similar to what happened with yours. A couple of us "shade tree" mechanics were able to use a large screw to replace the hinge pin. We drilled a hole in the plastic door where the hinge pin was and then inserted the screw, used some epoxy to set the screw in place. Put the door back in place and it's almost as good as new.
