Dometic Refridge Problem

Hello All,

We purchased a new Coachman 5th wheel last fall and made our 1st trip across country recently. The fridge stopped working and know one, not even the dealer can explain why. The 3amp fuse and the in-line fuse both blew. Our serge protection was working properly. Any ideas?
  • We had a RV tech come to our sight and he got it going, he replaced the 3amp fuse and spliced around the in-line fuse. its still working fine but my local dealer is ordering the new in-line fuse. didn't like the idea of it not being there. The manufacture put it there for a reason.
  • If replacing the fuses means the refer is NOW working? If so, and you want to know what blew the fuses. A Power Surge caused the 120 element to pull excess amps and blew its fuse. The other fuse(12 volt supply) who knows. Maybe a defective fuse or a momentary 12 volt short. Doug
  • 3A fuse on circuit board is the Fridge DC SYSTEM fuse.........could be circuit board, harness wiring, propane gas valve etc.

    In-line fuse????
DO you mean fuse at DC Dist Panel.....DC Supply fuse
    OR
1A fuse for external fan ?????
