Dometic Refrig RM2310 lighting on propane ?

My frig is hard to light on propane, except when I light the stove burners, and "keep them lit". then the frig lights immediatley.

If I light the stove burners let them burn for about a minute till the flames are nice and blue. then turn them off and try to light the frig. i have to push the ignitor many times to get the frig to light.
even if i hold the plunger (gas) in for a minute or so it still does want to light.

The stove is inbetween the propane tank and the refrig.

any thoughts/ideas etc appreicated.

thanks

  • if its the regulator wonder if that could cause the cooling problem im having, having trouble to keep temp at 40 or below at times.
yesterday just for kicks i tryed adjusting the regulator turned it as much as a full turn ineither direction and no noticable chasnge in the flame. Did this while lit. Dont know if you have make adjustment with frige off and tank turned off? At any rate returned the setting to where it was originally any thoughts.
Ps this camper/frige was not used for the last several year. Just sat there with empty propane tank etc. Dont know if that has anything to do with it. But thought id mention it. Thanks

Just for fun, try turning the thermostat all the way to warm (or off) and try lighting it. I'm wondering if the LP regulator is not locking up well, raising the pressure if nothing is running. Turning it to warm or off will put it in the bypass mode, with a smaller flame.

I totally agree that the regulator is not functioning correctly Jmho Jb
  • my TC refrige is 1997. there are 2 buttons or knobs on the bottom front of my frige 1 feeds gas to the unlit burner other supplys a spark to lit it. nothing auto on this frige.

I can try to lite with thermostat on 1. the instructions say turn about 1/4 turn thats about 2.5. seams to me this could have to do with the regulator.

What year is your dometic? And what do you mean by "pushing the igniter" or holding the plunger (gas)in for a minute? My dometic does not have an igniter to push. Where is this igniter located? Mine will atomatically try to light 3 or 4 times and if it fails to light, the red "failed to light indicator will come on. You have to turn the refer Off and then ON again to get it to try again. Yes lighting the stove burner is a good idea to bleed the air out of the line.
  • i know what you mean i was hoping to not have to do that but guess i will.
  • i did use compressed air on the burner havent soaked in alcahol yet ?
  • sounds like dirty burner, theres a place on here that tells about cleaning the burner ,
