If I was going to add or change some high current 12VDC cables I would design everything to always terminate into a proper size ring terminal. You can have proper size 4AWG cables made up in any size you need or make them up your self.
My current amperage being used was going to fit 4AWG cables so all of my cables around the batteries, fuse blocks, terminals blocks, and the battery switches ended up all being 4AWG cables with ring terminals on both ends. This makes for very good cable connections. This also gives you the opportunity to make cables the right lengths you need and make same cable runs the exact lengths to balance out load carrying cables.
You can either purchase 4AWG cables at the lengths you need or build them up yourself. I knew I would always being doing things like this so I elected to make up my own cables. I decided to use ANCOR Marine Brand battery cables and ANCOR ring terminals. I also use a 8-ton hydraulic hand crimper tool to properly connect the ring terminals to the cable ends. Using the proper tools you can duplicate your high quality built cables every time...
The ANCOR marine grade battery cable and ring terminals is readily available from ebay company sources and not all that expensive. I could get 25-foot spools of the ANCOR Marine grade 4AWG cable for $50.
Just more food for thought...
