Dreaded Delamination

Bought this 30 ft. 2002 Class C 30 footer over 3 yrs ago for $23000. Didn't see the delam signs(dumb) before we purchased. We've liked it a lot and thinking we got a good buy until we started this trip and see major seperation of fiberglass from underlying wood in multiple places on 1 side. Most likely need to replace the entire side, repair wood, etc. But it's not where the original spot was at all so couldn't have forseen. Anyone else have this happen? Did you repair, dump it or quit? We've had a guesstimate of $13,000. We do like it and have added many nice features. Replacing it would be tough as we probably wouldn't spend more than $15000 plus trade in. Won't do a loan. It probably started when I clipped a log fence with a rear corner even though insurance dd do a repair on that.

  • Repair it by injecting some resin into the sidewall. You'll need to figure out a bracing system to put pressure on the exterior skin while the resin cures.

  • Ours has that problem on the door.

I reckon I will put a few screws in it one of these days. There are some nice little screws with white heads at the hardware store.
