The tstat is 140 degrees. The ECO is 180. IF the tstat fails and then the ECO trips, it will turn the Red LED fault light on when on 120 volts. So, either they used the wrong tstat when they replace it or they installed a ECO in place of the Tstat. Last, if the Tstat spring is not installed correctly, this causes the Tstat to not TOUCH the aluminum tank and not sense the actual temp. Usually when the ECO temp is reached the POP OFF Valve will start to seep. Doug
