Duo Therm Brisk Air

I have a Duo Therm Brick Air in my 2008 sprinter travel trailer. The compressor cycles and the fan continues to run. The A/C cools good when the compressor is running but it shuts off after about 10-15 minutes and will come back on about 10-15 mins later. The fan never shuts off unless I raise the temp on the thermostat. Is this normal? It has done it since new and the dealer says it is normal.

My thought was that it could be defective since new. There are not many parts to check without taking it in for service. Maybe move the freeze sensor away from the evaporator and see if anything changes. Probably a long shot.

Do you have any kind of energy management system that might shed the compressor while the water heater cycles on etc?
  • Been doing it for 6 yrs..........:H

Does it reach thermostat set point?

Is cool air blowing down towards/on thermostat?

    Is the trailer staying cool?

  • Sounds like the freeze sensor is shutting off the compressor.
Could be some other limit switch.
Generally on hot days the compressor should run continuously.
