I thought I had a bad fan motor too but it was dragging one of the squirrel cages and by raising that end of the motor mount up I was able to fix my problem without replacing the fan. I could not hear the fan dragging and it was only by comparing how well it spun compared to another unit that I found the problem. I would shim one end of the fan motor up at a time and spin it to see if it spends longer than before before replacing the motor. By spinning the fan shaft with your fingers it should keep turning for close to 10 seconds. This was on a 04 Dometic heat pump.
