Dutherm AC issue

My AC runs for about 5 minutes maybe 10 and the fan quits blowing there is still noise from the front of the unit vibrating humming noise I reached up and turned the fan and it moves freely can not turn fan on when this happens if it sets for 5 our 10 minutes will come back on any help please

    Ok looked at it today when it quits the compressor will still be running but no blower. The blower motor is REAL hot as if I drop water on it it sizzles suspect blower motor needs replace

    Inside the fan.....or in a little "bump" where the wires come into it.

    If the fan is getting power but is not turning.....then it's probably time for a new fan. Even if it has thermal overload protection, that part might not be available by itself.

    Sounds to me like there might be a thermal overload protection "switch" on the fan itself that it tripping.....and resetting when it cools down.

    If the fan motor housing does not feel hot, the protection switch itself might be bad.

    Does the fan slow down before it stops working? Do you have two units?
