DVD player died.

Well my 7 year old Jensen DVD/CD player gave up the ghost last weekend. It's been gradually getting worse over the last several months. I've tried cleaning it with a cleaning disc and blowing the dust out with a can of keyboard cleaner but no dice.
My internet searches have turned up about 6 different brands of possible replacement DVD/CD/AM/FM package unit replacements. Besides Jensen there's Concertone, IRV, Magnadyne, Furrion & Elite. Could be some others that I didn't find as well. Prices range from around $200 up to $700.
Seems like there's plenty of complaints on all of these brands as well. So I'm wondering is there really difference between these brands? Or are they like VCR's in the 1980's which were all made by one company and just branded differently. Is there a good brand out there? Or should I just buy the cheapest one I can find and plan on replacing it every few years?
  • I've never heard of any of those brands, and the prices are outrageous.

I use 120VAC for all of my home entertainment so I can use the $29.95 DVD/CD player from Walmart just fine... When camping off-grid I use a PSW Power Inverter to run it...
