If you look at the socket on the blanket you will see pins sticking up atcha. Those pins are not solid. They have slits. Four of them. If a plug ever gets loose and keeps falling out, a fine tip knife can be used to spread the segments just a little. Not too much! I finish off with drops of DeOxit D100 and the blanket works like new.
To heck with wasting battery power to pre-heat the bed! Get a hot water bottle and boil up some water then slip the bottle under the blankets.
My ex used to get a kick out of walking on uncarpeted flooring, getting into bed then branding my back with ice cold feet. Payback was freezing four or five Blue Ice packets then slipping them on her side an hour before bedtime. Screams.
My Malamute thought nothing of curling up on the walkway and getting buried beneath snow and then the temp would drop to -20F. He would not stick his nose past the front door. Even then as his head entered the cracked door and he would wince at 60F and quickly back out. A friend has Blueticks and hounds, and they would curl up around his glowing potbelly stove until their fur starting steaming. Amazing animals.
