A toaster of less than 600 watts would be useful to me for my particular inverter. Anyone know of one?Our cheapie 2 slicer uses 740W, just too high. I looked at trying to cut or switch off one side. Unfortunately it's not a simple as that. The center run of heating wire is common to both sides, wrapped around a divider. Shutting off the remaining one half of one side might get under 600W, but it would be close. I searched for a one slice toaster, and they existed 50-60 years ago, but not now. Please, first person to say they use the stove, grill, toasting gadget for same, etc., gets it! :)I'm well aware of those options. :)

reason for the low wattage ?overloaded circuit OR want to use existing inverterthe first is easy turn something off for a few minutesthe second.. maybe use a buck transformer between the toaster and the inverter supplied outlet..knock down the voltage 10~20% knock down the wattage, toasters are resistive heat..reduce the voltage and the power load goes downthat or a bigger inverter

No, it's a single slice toaster. It's a tiny little thing, about the size of a church pew bible except almost 3" thick. I have a Morningstar SureSine 300W inverter. It's rated to put out 600W for 10 minutes. I'm hoping this works out, cause I like toast at breakfast.

I love the idea of a single slice toaster and heater immersion coil when I am in a hotel room. Wake up, fix toast, french press coffee and I am spared a grumpy search for a restaurant that has drinkable coffee. Stop "Ewww'ing" already. You haven't lived until you've had toast with fresh mango jam. Of course if the power is off, it's either C Rations or nothing but I have used a Bernz-O-Matic torch to heat water for the French Press. Sheer desperation.

The quest is to find a tiny one slice toaster - methinks Snowman's is a double hole? None of this stuff will work with a Samlex 300 inverter, so that's out. How about a 12 volt toaster? One of those cheese grater battery "testers" has elements that glow, after all. Wishful thinking...

I got my ebay Toastmaster Bachelor toaster today. I think this is just the ticket. It draws 605W, 4.92A, at 123V. Hoping at my pure sine inverter's 115v it will draw 565W, which is within my power limit.

Plus it makes great toast. And is tiny.

Wattage would go way up...probably about 700 watts...When used on 120vac

Very likely would not last too long

Ah, thanks. So it is 100VAC, though. Would it take 115v from an inverter? Probably.
