electrical adaptor

Am looking for a 50 amp to 15 amp adapter. Specifically the 50 amp end that connects to trailer - to a 15 amp. I can not find one. What is the plug model number that goes to the trailer (not the pedestal). If I knew that I would make my own.

  • Get a 50 to 30 and a 30 to 15/20
There will be times you need a 50 to 30
  • Only use those 50 to 15 adapters to keep the batteries charged. Most anything else on a modern RV will draw too much current for a 15 amp service.

    Something like this?

Amazon has all kinds of stuff.. but I'm confused on exactly what you mean.

I've used this adapter for several years now at the S&B and it does a good job.

Do you have a 50a twistlock connector on the trailer or just a 50a cord?

Twistlock see above. Otherwise you have a NEMA 14-50 plug on your cord. PPL has this:

  • Not sure which plug, but the twist lock is NEMA L14-50 , straight blade is just 14-50.
  • I bought a heavy duty extension cord and a 50A female end. And made my own. Have used it for years with great results at home.
